Ornamental Teapot

For this ZBrush project, my goal was to study hand-sculpted ornamental work and get more familiar with using Array Mesh. I started by manually modeling all the ornaments with the Curve Tube Snap brush on a plane, without relying on alphas or curves, to gain full control over the details. While time-consuming, this approach provided a valuable learning experience in precision and sculpting techniques. I did face some challenges, particularly with getting consistent detailing across the pieces, but overcoming these issues was a key part of the process.

I rendered the piece in Marmoset Toolbag for the first time, and while it was a steep learning curve, I was impressed with the real-time rendering. The next step will be exploring texture layering and grunge effects in Marmoset and Photoshop to bring out even more detail in the ornaments.

I sculpted the ornamental foliage using the masking options in the brush toolset, adjusting for more control over the curved areas. This allowed me to carve detailed, natural textures into each leaf and branch, adding depth and variation to the design.
